Decision making | old habits

Decision making and old habits die hard.

Analysis of several hundred people who had accumulated fortunes well  beyond the million dollar mark, disclosed the fact that every one of them had the habit of REACHING DECISIONS PROMPTLY, and of changing these decisions SLOWLY, if, and when they were changed. People who fail to accumulate money, without exception, have the habit of reaching decisions,
IF AT ALL, very slowly, and of changing these decisions quickly and often.

The above quote is taken from napoleon Hill’s classic “think and grow rich”.  So how do you make your decisions?  I realized last week how hard it is to change your decision making style.

On the whole I have been good at staying away from procrastination. I have been very conscious of making good decisions quickly and sticking to them. Last week however was a testing time. Things were happening very quickly, suddenly I had a cricket club to run as well as my business.

The smart decision would have been to make a quick firm decision about what my priorities were. Unfortunately old habits kicked in and I tried to please everybody.

So all of a sudden I feel rushed and not on top of my business nor the cricket club I am supposed to be running.  What is even worse is that I have opened the door for procrastination to rear its ugly head again.

You see when you are rushed it means you cant do the things you want to do properly and for a green personality who strives for perfection this is not good. What’s more depressing is that it leads to procrastination.

All of a sudden you don’t feel good about what you are doing and this is a recipe for attracting disaster, because you go back to putting things off.

I am reminded very quickly how important it is to stay in touch with a positive group and a positive system. When you do this, it insulates you from the temptation to slip back  into old habits.

The constant reminder of being involved with a positive mastermind group serves to set off alarm bells as you stray from the path to success.

When you let go of this process you are alone and vulnerable.

So I am plugging back in and leaving my old habits far behind me to feel secure in the safety of this amazing mastermind environment.

If you don’t have a safe secure mastermind environment to stop you slipping back into old non serving habits then join ours.
